SINOPSIS

 A la hora de defender la ley y el orden, el antiguo sheriff fronterizo Bob Valdez (Burt Lancaster), un maduro defensor de la ley, mitad mexicano, mitad americano, ha sido siempre un remanso de sensatez en un mundo de locos. Frank Tañer (Jon Cypher) sin embargo, es el polo opuesto: un hombre avaricioso, impulsivo y totalmente corrupto. Un día, Tanner provoca un tiroteo que ocasiona la muerte de un hombre inocente, y Valdez le ordena que compense económicamente a la viuda. Tanner se niega a obedecerle y se ríe en su cara.
